Birmingham

'How was the funeral?' he asked
'It's over.' said Shadow.
'That shitty, huh? You want to talk about it?'
'No.' said Shadow
'Good.' Wednesday grinned. 'Too much talking these days. Talk talk talk. This country would get along much better if people learned how to suffer in silence. You hungry?'

  • Getting tips on 'what to do' from homeless people and drunken irishmen.
  • Running through the english rain asking old men where the nearest pub is.
  • Reading Neil Gaiman in a coffey shop without buying anything (When poor, be shameless.)
  • Wasted the sunny houres (there were about two of them) in Aidans appartment with a bottle of wine. Didn't see it as much of a loss since as we said: "A sunny England, isn't really England at all."
  • Taking a chlamydia-test while beeing totally wasted on a night-club.
Finding a 70's club in an old church where we danced on coloured squares under discoballs to Abba and sat in lip-formed couches!
  • Taking the bus to a random place called Blarney, Barney, Bobbington or something like that.
  • Trying to sleep on a grassy patch called "Doddington Green" while brittish children ran around cheering "Get a room!".
  • Getting shitfaced on Guinness in irish pub.
  • Eating fish n' chips from a paper-box half-drunk on the party street of Birmingham.
  • Going to the cinema on a midnight-show to see Star Trek which BLEW OUR MIND!
This is just a few pieces in the epic puzzle that is The infamous trip to Birmingham.

Woman in bar: Where ye from?
Patrick: Sweden.
W: Why aren't ye drinkin Carlsberg?
P: You Have To Think Outside Of The Box.

Ellen and Patrick ponder the appearance of english
people while getting shitfaced on guinness.

En dålig sak:
Jag lägger upp fötterna framför mig på bussen när jag plötsligt hör en nasal röst ropa:

Pinsamt, pinsamt, pinsamt, pinsamt, pinsamt, pinsamt, pinsamt, pinsamt.
Men såhär i efterhand tänker jag:

Let that be the worst of my worries.

He thought of Wednesday's comment and smiled, despite himself: Shadow had heard too many people telling each other not to repress their feelings, to let their emotions out, let the pain go. Shadow thought there was a lot to be said for bottling up emotions. If you did it long enough and deep enough, he suspected, pretty soon you wouldn't feel anything at all.
